It seemed like a natural fit when the owners of Muskoka Lakes Propane Inc., Frank Metcalfe, Billy Prosser & Rob Rennie decided to purchase and re-open the former Superior Propane location in beautiful Bala.  Having an existing business relationship with Superior Propane and becoming a Certified Superior Partner, MLP was well positioned to re-establish a full service propane company in cottage country.

In addition to providing service to Superior Propane clients, on April 18, 2016, MLP purchased the Superior Commercial Cylinder business, and began managing delivery and service to commercial customers in cottage country.  MLP provides propane cylinder delivery to both residential and commercial customers, as well as servicing a substantial network of propane exchange locations throughout the district. With the recent acquisition of their new Boom truck, delivery of the larger can be done with ease.  At their Bala location, whether it’s your BBQ tank or your vehicle fill….they can handle it all.

Many cottagers and residential home owners rely on propane for their BBQ’s, refrigerators, ranges and ovens, heating and air conditioning units, and more.

When considering propane as a source of energy for your dwelling, typically, a certified technician will survey your home or cottage to determine usage and establish the correct size of tank you will require.   Factors that influence the size of tank that you will need include the square footage of the home or cottage, the propane appliances that are being used and the total BTU load of the installed appliances.   Of course we’re all very familiar with the 20 lbs tank that is used extensively for BBQ’s, but the most common tank sizes used for recreational properties and homes are the 100 lbs., and the 420 lbs, however, depending on requirements, tanks up to 2000 gallons are available.
